The growth of the world population, the limitations of water and arable areas to produce food are already a reality, where the potato is considered one of the most important crops for the food security of humanity.
Potato is known for its nutritional value, as well as the livelihood of millions of families of farmers by vocation and rural workers in dozens of countries distributed around the five continents.
Despite the social, economic, nutritional and cultural importance, the potato has been subject to a lack of interest on the part of the authorities and frequent criticism from the media.
Objetives
1. Defend and strengthen the image of the potato
• Make available to the public real news to strengthen the image of the potato and support them with technical and / or scientific articles
• Make fake news available to the public and add technical and scientific information with due clarification to the public
2. Politics
• Exchange positive and negative experiences to strengthen the value chains of potatoes in countries of Latin America and the Caribbean
• Disseminate information on political activities that contribute to the sustainability and modernization of potato chains in countries of Latin America and the Caribbean
• Disseminate information on political activities that affect potato chains in countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
